A finely carved interior pole, an indication of the owners high standing, stood at the back of the no.8 house. Although this pole stood at the back of this house there was a round doorway in the stomach of the bear, like a frontal-pole entry. Researchers do not understand the significance of this. As with this one, this type of pole was the first to fall, because of the weakness caused by the doorway carved out at the base.

Photographed in 1913

Judi believes this photo from 1913 to be the only detailed photo of this interior pole and this pole has a long time ago returned to the earth, as was intended.  Because the researchers do not know why the doorway was carved into the base of an interior pole she chose to paint the face of the Chief Ninstints (Tom Price) in the opening, believing that perhaps this was his house.

This pole is depicted in Judi Wild's  lithographed print
entitled  "Spirit from the Past"

Judi's entire collection of 7 lithographed prints have recently been acquired by the National Archives of Canada.
